This past winter, we redecorated our Convent Library. It took weeks to prayerfully and creatively select paint for the walls, new carpet, upholstery fabrics, art work, and other decorative items. A committee of four, we battled through opinions and hurt feelings to a very satisfying result. One evening, while enjoying the finished room’s comfortable beauty, it occurred to me that the decorating process was not unlike God’s working in my heart. As the master interior decorator, He selects the fabric of my life, occasionally orders new curtains in the form of change, replaces the familiar old with innovative new and requires only that I trust Him.
