My morning meditation consisted of this cliche: If the shoe fits, wear it. Not in its usual context of accepting responsibility, but rather, in deciding to move forward. I recently was asked to return to a job I vowed I’d never do again. I’m qualified, have the necessary skills, and love many aspects of it. But having to sort between what I want (perfection) and what’s possible will be difficult emotional work. My feet are in the shoes and they fit well. With God’s grace, I’ll find the right balance.
