Although we have the privilege here at the Community of Jesus of seeing Christ in Glory whenever we enter our church as he is wonderfully depicted in the mosaic of our apse, we specifically celebrate his coming in glory on the last Sunday of the liturgical year.
Thus, we begin the season of Advent, the season of preparation for his first coming in Bethlehem, in the context of his dramatic coming again. As Christ, himself, tells us, “. . . for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will ‘see the Son of Man coming in a cloud’ with power and great glory” (Luke 21:26‒27).
