Monsignor Timothy Verdon, Canon of the Cathedral of Florence and Director of the Cathedral Museum, will develop themes of seeing as understanding and contemplation of the beatific vision in eight Easter reflections with images presented here at the Community of Jesus. Concurrently there will be an Artist’s Retreat, Discovering Light: The Artist’s Journey.
Artist Filippo Rossi of Florence, Italy will lead the art intensive workshop, which will focus on artistic expression and experimentation working with canvas, cardboard, wood and polystyrene in paintings and/or sculpture. The personal inspiration used to create an individual work will be explored, as will newfound ways of expression through collaboration with other artists in the creative atmosphere of the monastic Community of Jesus.
Timothy Verdon, Director of the Florence Duomo Museum, will share his passionate love of art in a series of lectures with beautiful images, exploring what it means to see with artistic understanding.
