This morning I heard a new Sunday School teacher saying to the students that we adults seem to have forgotten what it is to just look at the passing clouds and maybe see an angel in them — it’s a child’s gift — finding God in anything. Seven hours later I was getting out of my car and I saw a rainbow. It was one of those days where it drizzles but the essence of sun still makes it through the clouds. And there it was, a full rainbow with both ends disappearing somewhere in somebody’s house. And I’m ashamed to say I walked by. Oh, I saw it and commented and got some other people looking, but I didn’t really see it. I was on to the next thing, focused on getting my crazy “to-do” list done. It occurs to me now, that’s exactly what the teacher was saying this morning — God is everywhere, we just forget to look.
