What does God think looking down at all of us? One of my jobs is to take care of the church. Walking around the building I’m always noting things for the “to do” list: spills in the entryway, extra dirt and shells dragged in with the rain, a chair moved out of place, a new scratch on the floor, sunglasses left behind, the still squeaking door. This week I had to do some maintenance work on the roof. From 20 feet off the ground, things look different: no scratches in the floor, no coffee stains, hardly a spec of dirt…everything looks orderly and good. Looking down, I feel at ease, like my whole to-do list is suddenly not so stressful….maybe still necessary, but just a small part of a panoramic view. I wonder what God thinks about some of the many small things we stress over from day to day? Is he saying to let go?
