Inward Places

Recently I found an interesting quote of Plato’s: “Music is a more potent instrument than any other for education, because rhythm and harmony find their way into the inward places of the soul.” I started thinking I have seen evidence of the truth of that statement many times over the past years. Young people find a new meaning to their lives and hope for the future when handed an instrument for the first time–the first note they play brings a huge smile to their faces. And when the choir sings, the music sinks deep into the heart because the singers are living the text. Plato was onto something….

Reaching Out

It’s late spring and time to send out some important mailings to friends and supporters.  Our volunteers have mobilized to help us share about events theatrical, musical, liturgical – hopefully all inspirational!  It’s still nice to hold the written word and image in your hands isn’t it?
