The Divine Office (or Liturgy of the Hours) is the most frequent form of the Community’s daily prayer. Lauds, Midday, Vespers, and Compline are prayed according to the ancient practice of Gregorian chant, using Latin for the psalmody and hymnody and English for the readings and prayers. Thus, the chant is persevered and renewed as a living tradition – growing from sacred roots and adapted for modern monastic life.
